This was one of the first pieces of applique I ever made.

Can I tell you that at the time it was a triumph, there was no such thing as commercial applique or decoration unless it was seriously fabulous and expensive.  It led to my wildly innovative and original period of Applique on windcheaters …yes, it had never been done and I was constantly stopped in the street to ask where I got it!
